Our Mission
Airborne Bicycles first took flight in 1997 as a pioneer in the direct-to-consumer bike market. In the time since, we’ve traveled the trails in search of the perfect formula for our bikes, our message, and the clearest paths to connect Airborne to riders, like you, in the real world.
Based out of Dayton, Ohio, the small crew of industry veterans behind the Airborne brand are all riders, bred from the dirt of BMX, expanding our interests to bicycles of all kinds along the way. The focus of Airborne is to create the ultimate riding experience and form a unity between the bike, the rider, and the terrain. We believe in the Airborne experience. We hope you’ll become a believer too.
AIRBORNE BICYCLE CO.
A legacy built to ride above the rest
From pioneering customizable titanium bicycles online in 1997 to returning to its titanium roots in 2025, Airborne has always been driven by innovation, performance, and the pure thrill of the ride.
Where the Airborne story began
Airborne Bicycles was founded in 1997 by Jamie Raddin in Madison, Wisconsin. Fueled by a lifelong passion for cycling and his family’s U.S. Air Force pilot heritage, he launched one of the first brands to sell fully customizable titanium bicycles directly to consumers online.
With aviation-inspired branding, a bold direct-to-consumer approach, and titanium performance at extraordinary value, Airborne quickly became a standout name in modern cycling.
Growth, reinvention, and momentum
In 1999, Huffy acquired Airborne for its ecommerce vision, with Jamie Raddin staying on as President and General Manager. By 2002, he secured a licensing agreement and grew the brand independently again, building a loyal following through titanium leadership, strong service, and direct-channel growth.
After a quieter stretch, Airborne later re-emerged and continued evolving, keeping the name alive while preparing for a stronger future.
Back to titanium, back to the original vision
In January 2025, Airborne was re-acquired by the founder Jamie Raddin together with some incredible integrated business partners. The brand has returned to its titanium roots with stronger manufacturing capability, design expertise, and a broader global scale than ever before.
The mission continues
As the original ecommerce mavericks who first sold customizable titanium bikes online in 1997, Airborne continues to precision-engineer innovative bicycles and components that deliver extraordinary rider value worldwide.
